Standards Review is the second pass over anything numeric: rate tolerances, pressure ratings, hardness values, frequencies, service intervals and dates. Its job is narrow and adversarial, to check each figure against the standard or specification it came from and to reject any number that cannot be traced to a source we can name on the page. It is a verification step with a published remit rather than a laboratory: it reads documents, it does not run watches on a timing bench or in a pressure vessel, and how we research explains exactly where that line falls.

Areas covered

  • ISO 22810 and ISO 6425 water-resistance testing, as specified rather than as performed by us
  • Chronometer certification arithmetic
  • Materials data and hardness scales
  • Source tracing and citation

Disclosure

Standards Review holds no commercial relationships of any kind and answers to nobody with an interest in what a page concludes, so nothing it rejects can cost it anything and nobody outside the site can ask it to let a number through. Like the rest of the site it works with AI assistance, and for the same reason it exists: a model is confident about numbers and frequently wrong about them, so every figure ends up back at the document it claims to come from before it is published.
